Music at Saint George's Church

With a fantastic acoustic and world famous organ, St George’s is the perfect place for music.

Our music programme is lead by Director of Music, Peter Locke, assisted by our Organ Scholar, Tom Coxhead. We have a choir of up to fifteen singers who perform anthems at the 9.30am Eucharist on a Sunday and at Evensong, as well as leading the congregational settings at both services. The choir also sings on feast days and various special events. Membership of the choir is open to all, please contact the Director of Music for details via the Vicarage.

St George’s is a key venue for classical music in the area and we are particularly happy to welcome new groups who wish to use the church – please contact the Director of Music.

The organ is featured in the Priory Records 'Great European Organs' CD, available here.
